How our Addiction to Religion Kills Us

It was a weird Sunday for me. I was so tired from a hectic work week and overslept last night.

And for the first time in many years, I woke up late and couldn't make it to church-unlike me.

I decided to use the time to do some clean up, personal devotion - with a little bit of personal praise and worship session (the type where I play danceable gospel music, sing along and dance to the tunes), plan my schedule for the week and wrap

My Problem with Secretaries!

I walk into the office of this top government official. I have an appointment to meet with him to discuss some important business.

As a matter of procedure, I have to go through his secretary who is his official "gatekeeper".

After introducing myself and my objective, I am asked by this secretary to "sit down and wait for Director".

5 Conspiracy Theories That Are Dumb & Real

It's a scary world we live in today...lots of conspiracy theories and myths surrounding almost everything.

In my curiosity to dig deep into some "conspiracies", I came across some really weird and interesting one's on the internet.

Here are excerpts below...

"It would be nice to live in a world where there's no such thing as random tragedy and where every terrible event could be linked back to a villainous puppet master via a chain of subtle but obvious clues. We don't, though. Luckily, there is a fiercely insane contingent of people who are convinced that everything is a conspiracy, and reading their hilariously daffy theories about the exhausting web of deceit hiding behind recent events can occasionally make our indiscriminately destructive existence more bearable. Here are five of the most ridiculous examples.

The danger of Lack of Originality aka Copy and Paste

Today's world is one where you really dont need to invent something entirely new to be famous or successful. You just need to improve upon what has already been invented, and that's it!

Thanks to the inventor of copy and paste, we can simply lift material (including proprietary content and intellectual property) from the internet, CDs, pictures, etc and use them like we are the originators without giving credit to the authors.

A Lesson from Mr Biggs

I remember growing up as a kid and I one of my favourite places to go have fun was Mr Biggs!  Back then, all we knew about fastfoods was Mr Biggs.  From their food, to the snacks, the children's playground and for me especially, their collection of Super Strika's comics that got me hooked for hours unending.

It's unfortunate and rather heartbreaking that, passing by a Mr Biggs outlet a few days ago, I observed that they had SHUT DOWN.

#Definitions101: My Witty and Funny Definitions

When I look at the dictionary sometimes, I wonder why it is so hard to find definitions that actually relate to and apply to reality.

Anyways, I'm not an English Language Professor, but I think I have been able to come up with some easy and "un-complicated" definitions -unlike the dictionary-  to some frequently used words and phrases.

Let the classes begin!

Why Brazil Lost And What Entrepreneurs Can Learn From Their Loss

When Neymar fell to the ground grasping his back in the 82nd minute of the Brazil versus Colombian world cup quarter-final, the entire nation of Brazil as well as several other millions in other parts of the globe held their collective breath!

This was not a typical fall…it looked more serious. A fortuitous or intentional (only Colombian defender Juan Camilo Zuniga will know) knee to the back.
In the words of Brazilian left back Marcelo, who was the first on the scene “I can’t feel my legs” were the first words uttered by Neymar. Marcelo instantly feared the worse “paralysis” and fervently beckoned for medical help.

Tips to Save Battery Life on Your Phone

Image: thezoom.com

During the week, we heard news that passengers using US and UK airports have been told that all electronic devices they're travelling with must be charged in order to meet new guidelines issued by the Department for Transport. Passengers with phones, laptops and tablets that are not charged will have to leave their items behind. This is coming on the heels of reports of possible terror attack threats using mobile devices on US and UK bound airlines.

For many of us, keeping our smartphone or tablet charged is challenging enough, especially with our not-so-good power situation, without the extra pressure of airport security bearing down on us. However, there are a few steps you can take

8 Habits of Extremely Successful Entrepreneurs

"Great entrepreneurs don't write great books. In fact, they don't write many books at all."
Great entrepreneurs don't write great books. In fact, they don't write many books at all. Neither fact is surprising. Successful entrepreneurs are typically too busy innovating to write down much of anything. And on those rare occasions when they attempt to create a book, it's filled with what they did, and not what led to their idea in the first place. As a rule, they are not particularly introspective.

So, if we want to know what makes them successful

Of Celebrity Marriages and Fairy Tale Weddings

Looking at the gorgeous pictures of Tiwa Savage & Tee Bill’s wedding which took place over the weekend in Dubai, with a roll call of Nigerian Entertainment industry celebrities in attendance, I couldn’t help but smile shyly. Not the kind of smile that you put on when you’re happy or feeling hearty, its that smile you wear when you feel pity/sympathy for the person/people in a nice photograph who something bad may happen or has happened to.

Starting a Business is NOT Sexy

The things nobody ever says about starting a business…

I just got home, tired from my regular days schedule of activities. With my different hats as a manager, entrepreneur, small group leader, team member, unit cordinator, friend and of course blogger, I sometimes feel like I'm biting more than I can chew for my age (sic)! But quite frankly, living through my typical day can be challenging, debilitating, time-consuming, frustrating and sometimes even depressing

The job search scenario is so grim

Why I don’t “deal” with the police

“To serve and protect with integrity”

No offense to any one of my acquaintances who may be a member of the police force. While writing this piece, I did a quick run-through of my friends just to check if I have any one who is a police officer as a friend. I wasn’t so surprised when I didn’t find any.
I really do not have stuff to do with the police or anything against them, but even when there is a genuine reason to get their help on an issue
